Redmond Town Center Sidewalk Sale & Arts Festival

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at
  • Why Go: Still in need of some new summer digs? This weekend will be the perfect time to hit up the Redmond Town Center, as the outdoor shopping center will host a sidewalk sale featuring Eddie Bauer, Macy's, REI and nearly 50 of its other retailers. But local arts and crafts vendors will also be a major draw, with more than 60 separate entities selling their wares. Food stands and live entertainment are sure to make the event a hit with non-shoppers as well.

SeaStar CD Release Party

  • Why Go: Seattle-based folk group SeaStar will celebrate the official release of their newest album "Home" with a performance at SoulFood Books on Saturday evening. The event promises to be a warm celebration for the group, which recorded the CD with the financial help of 75 family members, friends and strangers.   • Why Go: The Cascade Land Conservancy and the City of Redmond continue their Green Redmond partnership program with a work party this weekend at Westside Park. Volunteers will remove invasive plants and plant native trees and shrubs. Gloves and tools will be provided; participants should wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.

  • Why Go: In the mood for a good old-fashioned summer festival? The Bellevue Strawberry Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary this weekend with two days of food, vendors and family activities. The festival is also an official Seattle Seafair event this year, and a hydroplane will be on display to mark the partnership.

  • Why Go: It's the final weekend for SecondStory Rep's latest production, "On Golden Pond." Ernest Thompson's play takes place at a Maine summer house and examines a variety of long-term family relationships, including those between spouses and parents and children.
