  • Where/When: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday at the Puyallup Fair Grounds.
  • Why Go: The Puyallup Fair is back! So grab your friends and family and head to Puyallup for all the attractions you'd expect plus a few extras. Activities and entertainment include animal shows, 4-H and FFA students competing, grange displays, home arts cooking contests and quilts, the International Photo Exhibition that draws entries from all corners of the globe, Hobby Hall, floral designs, and rides, including the new thrill ride, Vertigo. Patch will even have a booth at the Fiar this year so be sure to stop by to say hi while you pick up some free Patch swag.
  • Pricing: Admission ranges from $9 to $11. Kids under 5 are free.

  • Where/When: 8 to 11 p.m. Friday at .
  • Why Go: Giorgio Momurda, DJ Phanton, Mind Hazzard and MKultra will square off to find out who's the Eastside's finest DJ. Come support your favorite and dance the night away! A $100 prize will be awarded to the winner picked by judges and crowd response.
  • Pricing: $7

Kirkland Art Walk

  • Where/When: Noon to 8 p.m. Friday in downtown Kirkland. For a map of galleries, visit http://www.kirklandartwalk.org.
  • Why Go: It's the last Kirkland Art Walk of the summer. So get outside and take advantage of the nice weather while you enjoy this free, self-guided, public art tour throughout the local galleries in downtown Kirkland.
  • Pricing: Free.

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at .
  • Why Go: Japan comes to Bellevue for a weekend! Now in its 14th year, the 2011 Aki Matsuri (Fall Festival) celebrates Japan's rich cultural heritage with two full days of on-stage performing arts, martial art demonstrations by local dojo members, puppet shows based on Japanese Folk Tales, tea ceremony demonstrations, more than 80 exhibit booths, and Japanese food booths.
  • Pricing: Admission is free.

 

  • Where/When: 1 to 4 p.m. Sat, Sept 10 at .
  • Why Go: Join the City of Sammamish for a screeing of the documentary A Painted Life. Then, after the screening stay for an interactive session with Northwest artist Henk Pander. Just bring in your works of art and get a free personal critique! 
  • Pricing: Free.

  • Where/When: 7 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. and 4 p.m on Saturday and Sunday at SecondStory Repertory.
  • Why Go: It's the SecondStory Repertory's newest production from their Theater for Young Audiences Series, and it's good old fashioned fun for the whole family! Can't make it this weekend? The show runs through Sept. 25, so you'll have a few more weeks to fit it into your schedule.
  • Pricing: Tickets are $10.

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at .
  • Why Go: Wrap up the gardening year with bargains galore.  Shop for plants that add fall and winter interest to the garden, including perennials from the famous NPA Border and an array of plants from specialty nurseries. Hot coffee and tents in case of inclement weather will be provided.
  • Pricing: Admission is free. All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the NPA Border.

Nature Walks in Bridle Trails State Park

  • Where/When: 10 a.m. Sunday at .
  • Why Go: Join ecologist Jim Erckmann for a nature walk through Bridle Trails State Park. During the walk you'll learn about the natural history of the plants and animals of this exceptional forested natural area. You'll also learn how biological diversity in forests develops over time, and the threat of invasive plants to urban forests.
  • Cost: Free. The walk is limited to 20 people; for information on how to register.

 

  • Where/When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Carillon Point in Kirkland.
  • Why Go: For car enthusiasts everywhere, the Kirkland Concours d'Elegance has quickly become one of the premier car shows in the country. The event draws participants from across the nation and Canada every year. So get out to Carillon Point this Sunday and ogle over these insanely rare rides. You'll even get to see one of the most famous cars in the world, the Aston Martin DB5
  • Pricing: Adult are $25; Youths (7-17) are $10; children under 7 are free. All profits benefit uncompensated children's care at Seattle Children's Hospital and Evergreen Hospital Medical Center.

Seahawks vs 49er's

  • Where/When: 1 p.m. Sunday at Three Lions Pub.
  • Why Go: Looking for a good spot to catch the first regular season game this Sunday? Check out Three Lions, which has plenty of TVs, a friendly atmosphere, good service and most importantly, a great beer selection. There's also a happy hour on Sundays from 3-6 p.m. GO SEAHAWKS!
