Loved Ones to Hold Service for Steve Lacey Today in Bellevue

Tributes continue to pour in for highly regarded software engineer killed July 24 by a driver who police say was drunk and might have been involved in a road rage incident.

Friends and family will remember 43-year-old Google software engineer and Microsoft veteran Steve Lacey, killed last Sunday in a car crash in Kirkland, during a service today at East Shore Unitarian Church in Bellevue.

The service, at 2:30 p.m., will be followed by a reception at the  in Kirkland. Meantime, tributes continue to pour in for the highly regarded engineer, a Kirkland resident who leaves a wife and two children.

Many are on the Steve Lacey Memorial page on Facebook and another is in the form of a special flight made by Tom Tiedman on Flight Simulator, the Microsoft project Lacey contributed to while working for the company. See the video here, or click on it at right.
