Here's a roundup of some of our most popular stories from the past seven days.

Monday: First reported by a Redmond Patch reader, we were able to confirm on Monday that Ruby's Diner in Redmond Town Center . No word yet on what will take the restaurant's place.

Tuesday: We with Redmond artist Jessica Lambert, whose paintings are on display at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center through Aug. 29. A new studio has helped fuel a period of intense productivity in Lambert's career, and nearly all of the paintings in her current exhibit were done this year.

Wednesday: With the end of school right around the corner, parenting columnist Kathleen Miller offered a . Whether your child wants to kick around the soccer ball, take a hike on a wooded trail or go for a swim, Redmond's vast and varied selection of parks offer a little something for everyone.

Thursday: A plume of black smoke rose from Redmond on Thursday as fire crews battled a along Willows Road. Redmond fire officials have blamed the blaze on a transformer malfunction, but PSE has yet to name an official cause. No one was injured in the fire, but 25,000 homes lost power and traffic was at a standstill throughout much of the area because of road closures and dark traffic signals.

Friday: Friday was a historical day at Benjamin Rush Elementary, where teachers and students on a new school to replace Rush's existing 41-year-old building. Sixth-grade teacher Sydne Mack, who is retiring this year after 41 years at the school, has the honor of digging in the first shovel.

Saturday: For her weekly fitness column, Heidi Dietrich a try at Seattle's Barre3, which also has a location in Bellevue. Barre is a form of exercise that is growing in popularity and combines elements of ballet, pilates, yoga and boot camp.

Sunday: Patch intern Fernando Sioson told , a 51-year-old Redmond resident who survived a heart stoppage in May and reunited Saturday with her two rescuers. McClure was saved by two strangers who performed CPR on her after she collapsed on the Redmond Powerline Trail.
