Redmond Patch Week in Review

Read on to make sure you didn't miss any of our top stories from the past week.

Monday: Patch contributor Jeanne Gustafson , whose job duties include making sure local businesses have the information and other resources they need to recycle. Thanks in part to Auer's efforts, 82 Redmond businesses, as well as its public schools, city facilities and fire stations, participate in the program and compost about 35 tons of food every month.

Tuesday: On Tuesday, we learned of lineup. The chosen flicks include "Toy Story 3," "Dodgeball," "True Grit" and more. The weekly Wednesday-night series begins July 13 and continues through August.

Wednesday: Patch contributor Dusty Somers . The theater's 13th season, which begins in August, will include six mainstage productions, five productions for young audiences and a host of other entertainment events.

Thursday: We checked in with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), which between Montlake Boulevard and I-405 on the weekend of June 17 to 20. The agency is planning six additional 520 closures through the end of 2011.

Friday: We helped Redmond-based Lake Washington VFW Post #2995 commemorate its , which was packed by local gold star mother Linda Clanin-Swanberg on Thursday evening. The support box program was started six years ago by World War II veteran John Kenny.

Saturday: Our focused on an increasingly common dilemma: to cork or not to cork? Some local wineries are choosing the later in an effort to prevent spoiled wine that can result from a tainted cork.

Sunday: We had a complete wrap-up of Saturday's "Bachelor" auditions in Kirkland. Dozens of single Northwest women β€” and a few men β€” descended on the Woodmark Hotel for their chance at TV stardom and "true love."
