Redmond Patch Week in Review

Here's a recap of some of our top stories from the past seven days.

Sunday: Derby Days was last weekend, and Patch photographer Dave Greer was there to capture all the action. Got your own photos from Derby Days? It's not too late to upload them to our gallery—follow the link for instructions.

Monday: We started off the week with a , which kicked off Tuesday. This year's lineup includes a variety of music, dance and theater acts throughout the month of July and August.

Tuesday: Patch sports editor Mike Baldwin caught up with long-time Redmond High School tennis coach Marceil Whitney, who is one of nine finalists for the United States Tennis Association's Starfish Award. The award recognizes exceptional high school coaches who follow a "no-cut" policy.

Wednesday: Good news for Redmond pizza fans: Seattle-based Zeeks Pizza in the lower level of the Red160 Apartments. A spokeswoman says the Redmond location, which will offer both dine-in and delivery services, will open sometime in late August or early September.

Thursday: Speaking of the Red160 Apartments, national car-sharing company Zipcar has , with the intention of expanding in the Redmond area. This makes Redmond the fourth city in the state with Zipcars.

Friday: In her weekly Moms Talk column, Malia Kawaguchi The best part about dealing with moody kids, she said, is that a new attitude is always right around the corner.

Saturday: Roadwork at the Novelty Hill project, with a full closure of Northeast 95th Street. Novelty Hill Road will also experience intermittent road closures during the weekdays.
