Here's a recap of some of our top stories from the past seven days.

Sunday: The Washington Secretary of State's office recently announced it is . If you know of an outstanding business in the Redmond area, you can nominate it by submitting an application on the Secretary of State's website by Aug. 31.

Monday: In last week's About Town column, we , a Vietnam veteran who is actively involved in the local VFW post and also serves on the board of the Redmond Saturday Market. Watson says he always feels better about life when he's able to give back to the community.

Tuesday: Big news came Tuesday when , including the location at Redmond Town Center. Officials with the shopping center said they have already begun to seek out new tenants for the space. The national bookstore chain also later on in the week.

Thursday: Firefighters from Redmond, Woodinville, Kirkland and Bellevue extinguished a two-alarm blaze Thursday at the Onyx Apartments on 156th Avenue NE. No one was inside the building at the time; the cause of the fire has not yet been released.
