Redmond Patch Week in Review

Here are some of our top stories from the past seven days. Read on to make sure there is nothing you missed.

Sunday: If you're thinking about adding a new four-legged friend to your family, don't forget about pet adoption groups such as Redmond-based Motley Zoo Rescue. Our was a terrier mix from Motley named Luna.

Monday: Friends and family of Kirkland resident and former Microsoft engineer Steve Lacey, who was killed in a traffic crash last weekend. Police say the driver who hit Lacey on 85th Street NE was drunk and might have been involved in a road rage incident.

Tuesday: Eastside residents also came together last week to , a 9-year-old Issaquah girl who was killed in a multi-vehicle pileup on I-90 earlier this month. Prior to her death, Rachel had collected donations for a clean-water charity; contributions to the group have skyrocketed since her passing.

Wednesday: Redmond police officers and firefighters joined other volunteers at a for children in need at the Redmond Target. About 25 kids from all over the Eastside had the opportunity to spend $80 on new shoes, clothing and other items while one of the adults helped them pick out what they needed.

Also on Wednesday, we posted a on Redmond's camera enforcement pilot program. The city council is schedueld to decide by the end of the year whether or not to continue to use red-light and speed cameras to issue drivers citations.

Thursday: The city council earlier this week to expansion plans at Redmond High School, which some say could exasperate traffic and parking issues in the Education Hill area. Council members decided that their approval of a conditional use permit for the project will also require the Lake Washington School District try to come up with ways to mitigate those problems.

Friday: Moody's, a highly regarded credit-rating agency, announced Thursday that it is , including the Lake Washington School District. The potential change is a result of the national debt limit crisis.
