Redmond Patch Week in Review

Here's a recap of some of our top stories from the past seven days.

Sunday: Amid the ongoing debates about bottled versus boxed wines, is taking things in a whole new direction by offering vino on tap. The winery, which moved into its current location about a month ago, offers seven different varietals in kegs of varying sizes.

Monday: Following hours of last-minute debate, the King County Council to help fund Metro bus service and avoid significant service cuts. Jane Hague, who represents part of Redmond in District 6, appears to have benefited from her yes vote—she in early results from Tuesday's primary election.

Tuesday: Just a few weeks after Seattle-based Flying Apron , Redmond is about to be home to a full-service restaurant specializing in allergen-free dining. Patch contributor Dusty Somers earlier this month and got the scoop on the restaurant, which will open to the public this Monday.

Wednesday: City officials of the first phase of the 161st Avenue NE extension between Redmond Way and Cleveland Street. When the project is finished later this year, the street will extend all the way to Bear Creek Parkway, which officials say will go a long way in helping to relieve congestion improve connectivity through downtown.

Thursday: Redmond's three red-light cameras and one speed camera have brought in more than a half-million dollars in revenue so far this year, but most of that money is going to King County for a retainer on court costs. Although there will be a "true up" at the end of the year, the city's finance director .

Friday: Redmond held its first-ever "Great Day of Play" on Friday, and a steady crowd of recreation enthusiasts came to the city hall campus to check out a variety of activities, including a youth basketball tournament, trampoline show, 5K race and more. Saturday: Speaking of gluten-free goodies, this week's was all about the advantages of going gluten-free. One Seattle-based business, Wheatless in Seattle, is on a mission to convince her customers that cutting out gluten doesn't require a person to sacrifice taste.
