Redmond Patch Week in Review

Read on to make sure there's nothing you missed on the site over the past seven days.

Sunday: Feel like it's too soon to say goodbye to summer? Check out our of Redmond residents getting out and enjoying the sunny weather around townβ€”the images just might give you some ideas for how to get the most of what's left of this all-too-brief season.

Monday: This week's was of city planner Kim Dietz, whom you might have seen at a city council or neighborhood meeting. Dietz takes on many roles within the city government, especially when it comes to reaching out to neighborhoods and getting residents involved in the planning process.

Tuesday: The state for the 2010-2011 standardized assessments. Students from the Lake Washington School District outscored their peers at the statewide level and made significant gains in several areas.

Wednesday: Drive through a school zone on your way to work? Redmond Police that they'll have extra enforcement in place when local kids return to school this Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Thursday: Patch contributor Dusty Somers gave us an therapeutic riding center, which will be expanding and moving into a new Redmond location in a few months. The 17-acre plot of land off Avondale Road will feature a 40-stall barn, two covered arenas, a welcome center, therapy rooms and a tack barn.

Friday: Ever feel like being a parent is much more stressful than the typical 9-5 gig? This week, Moms Talk writer Malia Kawaguchi and reminded readers that being a mom or dad can be just as rewarding to one's personal development as one of those regular ol' jobs.

Saturday: Redmond High School this week with a 48-16 loss to Juanita High School at Juanita. Coach Jeff Chandler said his young team's inexperience puts them at a disadvantage but that they are committed to improving as the season progresses.
