Redmond Patch Week in Review

Monday: Cornelius De Jong IV, the 21-year-old Redmond man accused of fatally shooting a 20-year-old Seattle woman at a Redmond house party last month, at the King County Courthouse on Monday. A judge denied a request that De Jong be released on his own recognizance, citing his history with alcohol and witness statements that De Jong was under the influence at the time of the shooting.

Tuesday: It's official: following a unanimous vote from the district's board of directors. Pierce has served as LWSD's deputy superintendent of instructional services since 2010, and school board members said they believed her experience in the district would ensure a smooth transition.

Wednesday: , where property managers are currently seeking tenants and negotiating leases for a handful of vacant spaces. One deal has already been finalized: Chicago-based Potbelly Sandwich Works will open its fourth Seattle-area store at the shopping center this spring.
