Redmond Patch Week in Review

Catch up with what happened on Patch during the past seven days.

Sunday: In honor of the new season, we so you can get a head start on your jack-o-lantern selection. The patch at Dr. Maze's Farm in Redmond is now open for business, along with several other pumpkin patches in the area.

Monday: This week's About Town column , who is working on several new programs to encourage literary awareness throughout the city. One of her top concerns right now is a project to help celebrate Redmond's centennial in 2012.

Tuesday: Initiative activist Tim Eyman , claiming city officials are violating state law by refusing to hand a red-light camera petition over to the county. A hearing on the motion has been set for Oct. 11.

Wednesday: City officials also . New figures indicate the number of camera-enforced violations is declining, but the number of collisions is on the rise. The Redmond City Council must decide whether to renew the program by Dec. 1.

Thursday: Police said three people suffered minor injuries Thursday afternoon off Redmond Way. The driver, who turned 91 on Friday, was booked and released on suspicion of reckless driving and driving under the influence of prescription drugs.

Friday: The Lake Washington School District on Friday. The district says the school, which is set to open in fall of 2012, will initially enroll only freshmen and sophomores but will eventually serve high-school students in all grade levels.
