Redmond Patch Week in Review

Monday: We , the woman behind the Redmond-based animal rescue organization Motley Zoo. Since she founded Motley Zoo in 2009, Thomas has made animal adoptions her life's work, and the organization has rescued and placed more than 400 dogs and cats since it began.

Tuesday: We from this year's Diwali celebration at the Redmond Senior Center. The annual Hindu cultural festival included live performances, food, kids' activities and more.

Also on Tuesday, we from the inaugural Boys & Girls Club Tech Fest at Microsoft. The event drew hundreds of youth from around the state who participated in technology workshops and other educational activities.

Thursday: We , a breast cancer survivor who is using her gourmet spread business to help raise money for a cure. The Sammamish resident sells between 15,000 and 20,000 jars of garlic spread each year under the Chez Jane label.

Saturday: It was an extra-festive day at the Redmond Saturday Market as about 20 costumed canines paraded around to celebrate Halloween. Check out for some of the day's cutest costumes.

Sunday: We caught up with a group of Redmond girl scouts that has to a great cause by going door to door on Halloween to collect food items for Pantry Packs. The girls are also planning a food drive at Rosa Parks Elementary in November.
