Redmond Patch Week in Review

Here's a recap of some of our top stories from the past seven days.

Sunday: Redmond Patch commemorated the 10th anniversary of the tragic Sept. 11 attacks with several stories and photo galleries, including over the last decade. examined how the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have brought younger veterans to the VFW post in Redmond.

Monday: Redmond by CareerBliss.com. The website said the presence of Microsoft and relatively high compensation rates helped push the city to the top of the list.

Tuesday: Zeeks Pizza on Tuesday, marking the Seattle-based pizza chain's 10th location. A grand opening ribbon cutting and party will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. this Wednesday.

Wednesday: Redmond's anti-camera activists to put an initiative on the ballot that would ban red-light cameras in the city. The voter initiative would be Redmond's first; the signatures must still be verified by the county.

Thursday: It was a good week for King County council member Jane Hague, who , including Redmond, in her campaign for re-election. In what is considered a tight race, Hague, from Bellevue, is running against Richard Mitchell of Mercer Island for the seat on the council she has held since 1994.
