Here's a recap of some of our top stories from the past seven days.

Monday: Many changes are in the works as private liquor sales draw closer in Washington. Here in Redmond, the ; bidding is open until April 20.

Tuesday: The American Red Cross of King and Kitsap counties at its annual Heroes Breakfast on Tuesday. Assistant RFD fire marshal Todd Short and John and Cary Atzbach were recognized for the quick thinking and heroic actions that saved the lives of two people.

Wednesday: Some fresh marketing campaigns from Microsoft are attracting attention in the national media, with a recent blog post from The Atlantic Magazine declaring MS "the hippest tech company around." The Atlantic also pointed to the PR woes of competitors like Google and Apple in arguing that Microsoft's image is making a comeback.

Thursday: Redmond's new secondary STEM school as originally planned, the Lake Washington School District announced Thursday. Two failed resident appeals to the project delayed the start of construction, and the new school will be housed at Eastlake High School until the new building opens late this fall or early next winter.

Friday: The doors on Friday, following more than a year of construction and approximately 20 years of planning. The new station will serve North Redmond and Education Hill—an area that has seen extensive residential growth in the past few decades.

Sunday: Got milk? A Redmond man was not injured after the truck he was driving early Sunday morning. The incident is under investigation with the Washington State Patrol.
