Redmond Patch Week in Review

Monday: in downtown Redmond could cause headaches for drivers this summer. The bigger of the two projects is a complete overlay of Redmond Way between 132nd Avenue Northeast and Bear Creek Parkway, which is expected to begin in June and take until November to complete.

Tuesday: John Urquhart, former spokesman for the King County Sheriff's Office, . The Mercer Island resident retired in November but reportedly became interested in re-joining the sheriff's department after former King County Sheriff Sue Rahr announced her resignation in March.

Wednesday: The rights to Redmond's downtown liquor store have been , a local resident who said he intends to maintain the building as a wine and spirits shop. Roh said he is aiming for a "seamless" transition with the store when the state's new liquor privatization law goes into effect this June.

Thursday: Fire crews from Redmond and surrounding jurisdictions off Northeast 40th Street. No one was injured. No word yet on what caused the fire.

Friday: The Redmond High School baseball team is on a roll. The Mustangs on Thursday versus Issaquah, pushing the team's overall record to 12-7.

Saturday: The times could soon be changing for Passport to Woodinville, the annual spring wine tasting tour. explores the ongoing relevancy of the festival at a time when almost all Woodinville wineries are open most weekends.

Sunday: Hopelink, the Redmond-based nonprofit, has , a program that seeks to provide food for children in need during the summer months. Last year's campaign brought in 3.5 million pounds of food and assisted more than 18,000 people, according to Hopelink.
