Steve Lacey Remembered as Family Man Who Loved Sailing, Music

Well-known Google software engineer who was killed in an apparent road rage crash on Rose Hill July 24 is remembered at memorial in Bellevue.

Kirkland software engineer Steve Lacey was remembered Sunday as a devoted father, husband and friend who loved sailing, music and photography during a memorial service at Bellevue's East Shore Unitarian Church.

Lacey, 43, who worked at Google in Kirkland and also spent several years at Microsoft, died instantly July 24 when his car was hit head-on by an out-of-control SUV driven by a Mountlake Terrace man who police say was drunk and might have been involved in a road rage incident.

Patrick Rexroat is now in King County Jail on $1 million bond, charged with vehicular homicide and reckless driving.
