Art Talk & Wine Night- Anna Macrae’s Extended Installation

Join Anna Macrae from 6pm-9pm on August 16th for a casual conversation exploring the special extension of her art installation, “Process and Surface.” We learned from Anna last month as she shared insights into their unique process, inspiration and other details about her body of artwork and now we have the opportunity to uncover even more about this talented Redmond artist. Come enjoy wine and light food in the company of others.

More about the Artist:

“I am a process driven artist. I react to the surface of the canvas together with the techniques I have developed. This collection demonstrates the exploration of a range of processes that I have generated in response to a particular pre imposed surface. In its simplest form, this may be the rawness of a stretched canvas, leaving some areas exposed to enhance the quality of the fabric and then also working with a bleed effect of the weave. I might also build up multiple layers of rich pigment for both color and surface interest, and I often like to embed textural elements such as newspaper, sand or stitched fabric into the canvas. All these different processes activate the canvas in a way that is exciting to me and form the catalyst for creation.”
