Creative Art Making for Adults & Children

Come join artists Joanne Nolan and Jessica FK Lambert as they lead four consecutive weeks of creative art-making for adults and children 5 years of age and older starting Wednesday, August 7, 11am to 2pm, $5 suggested donation/per session, materials included.

Session 1: Color Theory, Wednesday, August 7, 11am to 2pm: Make a color wheel pinwheel and learn from the masters of color Matisse and Picasso when to use the rules of color combinations and when to break the rules.

Session 2: Drawing, Wednesday, August 14, 11am to 2pm: Learn to use pencil to create a foundation drawing of an object or imaginative scene, including elements of drawing such as shading, source of light, perspective, and composition, then use oil pastels to infuse the drawing with color.

Session 3: Printmaking, Wednesday, August 21, 11am to 2pm: Learn watercolor mono-printing and foam etching as a basis for printmaking as the masters did: Gauguin, Warhol, Kandinsky.

Session 4: Mixed-media sculpture/Assemblage, Wednesday, August 28, 11am to 2pm: Put together found objects to create modern artworks.

All sessions will be held at the VALA Art Center, 7303 164th Ave NE, Redmond Town Center.
