VALA [Venues for Artists in the
Local Area] Eastside, has become an influential organization in the
Redmond art community by enlivening its exposure to art and
creating opportunities for local artists in their own neighborhood. VALA
has made a big wave in Redmond by endeavoring to do something very unique in
it's community and the greater area.  The mission of VALA
is connecting artists to artists, artists to the community, and the
community to art, and the VALA does this
for free, acting as a community service organization.

VALA
HISTORY, PRESENT & FUTURE

Find out what's happening in Redmondwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

VALA is a 501c3, non-profit arts organization founded in
October, 2010 by Jessica and John Lambert based in Redmond, Washington. The
organization began by creating art programming in non-traditional venues
throughout Redmond with projects including Suzanne Tidwell's Artificial Light
"Tree Sock" installation at Andersen Park and a robust series of
public art events at locations around town like the Flying Apron Bakery.

VALA began partnering with Redmond Town Center (RTC)
in early 2012 by partnering to produce the Redmond Town Center Arts
Festival. VALA was fortunate to tap into the deep commitment that RTC has to
the Redmond community and its willingness to afford in-kind space. Thus, the
VALA Art Center opened its doors in March of 2013.

For its 3rd birthday, VALA celebrates a
milestone in non-profit growth, which is eligibility to apply for larger grant
funding.  Now a seasoned arts organization, the future holds many great
things for VALA and we hope you will join us and share in celebrating the
future.
