Predict your finish time and win a turkey! Join us for our 3rd annual Poultry Predictor Race on Saturday, November 16. The race is open to all levels of runners and you don’t have to cross the finish line first to win! The 5 participants closest to their predicted finish time will receive a frozen turkey! There are no timing devices allowed on the course including mp3 players, iPod’s, or GPS watches, and the only clock will be at the start/finish line. A professional timing company will chip time the event. New for 2013, participants (limited to 100) can sign up to compete in the predictor division, or just sign up for the 4 mile run/walk!

Directions:
At the end of SR-520 onto Avondale Road, go approximately 1.25 miles. Turn right onto NE Novelty Hill Road. Go 1/4 mile. Turn left on NE Redmond Road. Go 1/2 mile. Park is on left and well-marked. To access arena parking: From the end of SR–520 onto Avondale Road, go north approximately 1.5 miles, go right on NE 116th St then right on NE 196th St, entrance is at end of road on the right. Parking is limited, please carpool.
About This Event:
If you are participating in the Predictor Division- NO WATCHES ALLOWED ON THE COURSE. Runners guess their time before the race, no watches are allowed, no mile splits given and the finish clock is turned backward.

Both divisions include a long-sleeve technical fabric shirt, goody bag from participating vendors, and donation to The Ethiopia Project.
About the Ethiopia Project:
The Ethiopia Project’s mission is to fit gently worn and new footwear on those in need in the African nation of Ethiopia. They also put on races in Ethiopia in rural areas and are pursuing clean water, as well as school restoration projects. A collection bin for gently used shoes will be available at the event.

Awards:
5 frozen turkeys will be awarded to the runners who come the closest to their predicted time, and Male and Female age-group awards for 1st place.

Raffle prizes including turkeys and pies to be awarded in a random raffle.
Course:
The 4 mile out and back course starts at the Farrel McWhirter Park and runs along the scenic Puget Sound Energy Trail. There are no mile markers or split times given to the runners. There are two water stops on the course. Race support including water stations and police escort across Avondale Road will be available until 11:30am.
