Bike to Work Day Rolls in to Redmond on Friday

Organizers will host support stations around the Puget Sound region from 6 to 9 a.m.

Cascade Bicycle Club's annual Bike to Work Day is just a few days away, and organizers are gearing up for another big turnout.

In Redmond, two commuter stations will be open from 6 to 9 a.m. Friday: one on the Sammamish River Trail between NE 124th Street and NE 116th Street and one on the 520 trail near NE 51st Street. (Click here for a map of all locations.)

Most stations will offer free snacks, mechanical support and raffle prizes. Visit the Cascade Bicycle Club website for more details.

After the "work" part of Bike to Work Day is complete, cyclists are invited to celebrate at the official after-party in downtown Seattle. Festivities will kick off at 4:30 p.m. at Velo Bike Shop at 6th and Blanchard.

The City of Redmond will also host its second-annual Bike Bash from 4 to 7 p.m. behind city hall. Free food, live music and a beer garden will all be part of the festivities.
