Boo! Halloween Fun Abounds in Redmond

Looking for some festive fun this weekend? The Redmond Patch events calendar has you covered.

Halloween comes in the middle of the week this year, which means a bonus weekend of festive events and parties is coming our way. Here's quick roundup of what's on tap in and around Redmond both this weekend and on Wednesday, Oct. 31. 

Whatever your plans are for the spooky holiday, don't forget to add your photos to our Halloween costume contest by Nov. 1 for a chance to win $5,000.

Halloween party, 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Cascade Vista: Join Cascade Vista's senior community for a fall-themed afternoon of fun. Activities for all ages will be provided, including a decorated pumpkin contest, games, live entertainment and free food.

Cemetery bike tour, 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, various sites: Join the Sunday Pedalers on Kinda Easy Streets, aka S.P.O.K.E.S., for a leisurely tour of cemeteries in Kirkland, Woodinville and Bothell. Meet at the Sammamish River Park and Ride in Bothell at 10 a.m. Saturday to start the ride.

Thrill the World Zombie Dance Tribute, noon on Saturday, Oct. 27, Redmond Town Center: Come watch as zombies invade the center plaza at Redmond Town Center for the annual choreographed dance set to Michael Jackson's "Thriller." Various town center merchants will be offering specials and discounts to go along with the spooky festivities.

"Howl-O-Ween" Pet Parade, noon on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Redmond Saturday Market: Do you spend more time picking out a Halloween costume for your pooch than yourself? Join other pet owners and their four-legged friends at the Redmond Saturday Market's annual costumed pet parade this Saturday for some festive fun and to take advantage of the market's final weekend of the season.

Redmond Pool Pumpkin Patch, 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Redmond Pool: Make a splash with your search for the perfect pumpkin by attending the annual pumpkin patch at the Redmond Pool, located at Hartman Park. The event is open to kids who are 5 years old or older. Cost is $7.

Haunted Halloween Bash, 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Redmond's Bar and Grill: The Halloween party comes early to Redmond's Bar and Grill this Saturday with a live DJ, costume contest and drink specials all night long.  

Trunk or Treat, 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Redwood Family Church: Come for a free dinner of pumpkin pancakes and bacon, and stay for games, treats and other fun activities. Event is geared to children in grades 2-5, but all ages are welcome.

Nightmare at Beaver Lake, through Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Beaver Lake Park in Sammamish: Still need to get your haunted house on this Halloween season? Nightmare at Beaver Lake continues through Halloween night with daily "family hour" and "full scare" sessions. Cost is $10 per person for family hour or $16 for the "full scare." RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
