What's Open and What's Closed on Labor Day in Redmond

Check out this important information on what will remain open on the holiday.

Today, Sept. 2 - is Labor Day, so Patch has compiled a list of places in your community that are closed for the holiday.

Banks, post offices and the offices of elected officials will be closed for the day.

The King County Library System, including branches in Redmond and Kirkland, are closed.

King County Metro Transit service will operate on a Sunday schedule. If a route does not normally run on Sunday, there is no service on Labor Day. Sunday fares will be in effect on Metro bus routes on Labor Day.

Most local supermarkets - and a majority of restaurants and businesses - will remain open.

Regular recycling and garbage service will continue Labor Day for most Western Washington.

The holiday marks the official end of summer. Redmond schools in the Lake Washington School District will begin the fall semester on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
