The TOP Questions EVERY Parent Should be Asking.

If you are not asking these questions before a play-date you are missing and important opportunity to keep your kids safe.

I get lots of great questions during workshops but a very common question that parents bring up is what types of questions should they be asking before their child goes to a new friends house. With new school year under way, your child is making new friends and is probably already begging for a play-date at their new best friends house. You need to step up your safety game and start asking questions. Especially if your child is in the tween years and your company at the play-dates is no longer requested, wanted or welcomed. Now, seriously, you don’t have to interrogate another parent to get the answers you need. Sometimes a few key questions will be all you need to determine if you feel comfortable (or not) with your child spending time with this person.

  • Who will be home?
  • What is the planned activity?
  • Do you plan on leaving?
  • Who will be driving?
  • Who will be watching the kids?
  • When can I come pick up my child?
  • How can I reach you?

Let the other adults know that your child can call you at ANY TIME if they need.  By asking questions you are helping to set clear expectations and boundaries for your child.
