The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation announced earlier this week it will donate a $100,000 grant to to purchase 270,000 pounds of food for the Redmond-based nonprofit's five food banks.
Hopelink is one of 25 regional organizations receiving a total of $1.61 million from the foundation this grant cycle. The foundation's news release says the money will benefit more than 850,000 people throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Hopelink posted a thank you message to the foundation on its Facebook page Tuesday:
Their generosity will enable us to provide 270,000 pounds of fresh produce to more than 900 Hopelink families over the next two years, helping to ensure that our families’ journey to self-sufficiency will be fueled with healthy food!
