'Redmond' - Big, Handsome Cat of the Week Found Wandering in That Town

MEOW was sure that Redmond's human would come forward to claim him. Alerts were sent to vets, online ads were placed, but...no one claimed him.

It was a dark and stormy day... No, really it was!  It was the day before Thanksgiving and we were having one of our 'raining sideways' kind of days. As MEOW Cat Rescue shelter in Kirkland was getting ready to close for the day, a big and handsome boy was brought in.

He was found wandering in a very busy intersection of Redmond. There was strong reason to believe that he belonged to someone, as he was sporting some colorful, blue 'soft paws', little nail caps used to cover a cat's claws to prevent scratching. MEOW was sure that it was just a matter of time before his owner came looking for him. Alerts were sent to vets, online ads were placed, but no one has claimed him.

Redmond, as he is now referred to, is a great cat! He is a seven year old red Tabby with white. He has been neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, de-wormed, FeLV/FIV tested. He could stand to lose a little weight as he is a teensy bit on the heavy side.  Other than that, he's ready for adoption. Redmond is calm, loves to interact with people and is a master head butter. He's pretty fond of wand toys as well.

Redmond's "feline-ality" is a Personal Assistant. The definition of a Personal Assistant: "You're working on the computer? Let me press the keys. Reading the paper? I'll hold the pages down for you. Watching TV? I'll just plop in your lap so you can pet me. I love an orderly household, don't you? I'll help you with all your chores and I'll help you relax when we're done. You'll wonder how you ever managed without me."

If you might have a home for Redmond, come to Kirkland and meet him. See www.meowcatrescue.org or call 425-822-6369.

Was Redmond ever claimed by his people? I sure hope so. He is indeed a handsome boy.

We never did find Redmond's people. He didn't have any tags or microchip, w e placed ads, hung signs, left information with vets, but...nothing. The good news is that Redmond was adopted last weekend! :)

That's terrific Marilyn, thanks!
