A Coffee Connoisseur's Delight Found in By the Way Espresso

is my place to go when I'm on the go. They are located on the corner of Redmond Way and 161st Ave. NE (Aqua Quip parking lot). This is literally my must have drink of choice when I’m headed toward downtown Redmond.

As a coffee connoisseur, let me start by saying that this is by far the best latte in Redmond. Trust me when I say that I am extremely picky about my coffee. In my eyes, coffee is a delicacy best served by a professional barista.

If you can remember back to the days when the latte was an individualized entity, the new star if you will, starting up in the coffee and café businesses around the globe, you can almost certainly remember the difference in taste of a latte from then to now. I’m not talking about the “fast food” version of the latte either. I’m talking about the smooth flavors, the perfectly fluffy foamy textures with an experimental blend of flavors.

Well, look no further, because this place is my favorite! I love working with the storeowner, Courtney Garland, or her associates on new ideas of blended beverage creations just waiting to be devoured.

How can I not stop by for my favorite iced latte that is blended perfectly with hints of cinnamon, vanilla and caramel married perfectly with the smooth vibrant flavor of espresso? There is absolutely no wrong here! By married, I mean a beautiful and flavorful union! Each sip carries the fragrant touch of vanilla, the sweetness of caramel and the subtle hint of cinnamon. Each flavor complements the other perfectly, and there is no overpowering involved.

Watch out folks, my husband has competition, and it's this blend of flavors. I love this place, and I'm not the only one! My daughter can't watch a Strawberry Shortcake movie without one of their lovely blended strawberry smoothies.  

If you care to try their other blended drinks or just a plain drip, you’ll realize that this coffee is by far one of the best out there. By the Way Espresso took some time and did its research when it found the perfect roasting company in Caffe Vita.  Caffe Vita is known for its perfection and tender care in the roasting process, and it cares about the sustainability that involves coffee production.

If you are in a hurry, call in your order at 425-881-2507. Garland has an extensive menu from your standard drip to chai tea lattes to the Big Trains. The Big Train is one of those experiences you must experience firsthand. Let’s just say that there’s chocolate, and a heath bar…and there’s chocolate. It’s blended like a Frappuccino, but it has a yogurt base so that people like myself won’t be feeling too guilty by splurging.

By the Way also sells pastries, and for those of you with a special craving, there are also hot pockets. I hear men cheering everywhere (I’m staring at my husband as I type this one). Best of all, the place has great prices! Garland and her staff are always so down to earth and a pleasure to be around.
