The subtle flavor of the bananas mixed with the sharp orange citrus is the perfect combination to pair with blueberries that give a hint of sweetness. The spinach adds earthy undertones, and of course a color to match. If you would like a sweeter drink, I suggest adding a couple of pitted dates into the blend. Coconut milk is the perfect addition that gives a balanced and nutty tone to the overall flavor of the drink. If you would like a little zing, add some yummy ginger.
Heavenly Morning Smoothie
- A sharp knife
- A blender
- 2 bananas
- 1 cup spinach
- 1/4 c wheatgrass
- 1 c kale
- 1/4 to 1/2 c blueberries
- 1 small to medium-sized chunk of ginger (about 1 to 1.5 tsp) (optional)
- 1/2 orange, sliced into quarters
- 1 to 2 cups coconut milk, unsweetened (or water)
- 2 pitted dates (optional)
Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too rich, add more water or coconut milk to reach the desired consistency.
