Vitamin Life is a Hidden Treasure, X Marks the Spot

Have you ever been drawn to a small poster on a door to a small business and found treasure within? Let me tell you a little secret…

Have you ever been drawn to a small poster on a door to a small business? What led you there? When we take the time to follow our urge to read even a simple sign, we are drawn to a place or item that we were meant to find. I was drawn to the ’s windows one day as I was waiting for my husband to join us to go food shopping. The window attracted me due to its complexity of supporting local people, businesses, programs, upcoming talks that they were holding on nutrition, as well as new products that they were carrying.

By peeking through the window you would think that the store was very small, but after I texted my husband and went through the door, I found it much larger and with such an enormous variety of products that there is no way I could get through my own personal list of products I wanted to look at versus investigate, and of course the products that I currently want/use are on the same list. I spent a good 15 minutes at the first section alone with probably a pretty dumbfounded look on my face. While you could say that it was awe or wonderment, I was simply flabbergasted at the selection and variety of products this store had to offer.

The staff is very knowledgeable about all of the store's products, so don’t be afraid to ask. I went as far as asking about some feminine-related stuff; they really made me feel at ease and were able to point me to literally over a handful of products that I could chose from. This definitely showed me they were my go-to place. When the staff knows the line of products this well with a friendly down-to-earth attitude, I’m sold. They are there to consult with you, and they are known for giving you a tour of the store if you need to know where your products are.

The motto of Vitamin Life is that we can find our product at a discount of up to 50 percent. Am I believer? Definitely! While Vitamin Life may have the appearance of just another vitamin shop, once you look on the shelves you'll do a few double takes and walk away with several items that are either hard to find or discounted to a jaw-dropping price. Not only can I buy all of my vitamins here at a discount, I am also able to find herbal teas, beauty products, fair trade items, oils, candles, coconut water, almond flour…the list goes on and on. Have you checked out their clearance baskets? Lord, help us, and I mean specifically me.

I tend to have a great fondness for stores that are considered more aware than the standard run-of-the-mill small businesses, which means if a store is eco conscientious and is about the spiritual and physical wellbeing on many complex levels, then more than likely you’ll find me there. Some of my favorite products, to name just a few, are definitely the Zuii line of certified organic flora make-up, HUGO Naturals extensive line of beauty products, Crystal Sage Crystal Infused Oils, Beauty Without Cruelty Nail Color, Bette K’s New Feet, as well as their line of sustainability products. Yes, I do have a great fondness and love for my vitamins, but trust me when I saw I’m hooked to my favorites. I would definitely be having a hissy fit toddler-style if they took these products away.

If you like mineral wear, but want a softer and more subtle glow that is great for every skin type, I highly recommend the Zuii line of makeup made from Organic flowers like the beautiful Rose, fragrant Chamomile and the potent Jasmin. I love the fact that I’m wearing 100 percent organic materials on my face. This has been the only makeup that I have found where my skin is soft without lotion, and I have a soft radiant glow without a chemical based product. Best yet, I don’t break out when I wear this product, no clogging. The benefits don’t stop there, you benefit from the organic floral ingredients, essential oils, vitamins and minerals. Your skin will sing with this natural product line. Don’t believe me? They have testers right in front of the counter with informational booklets. Try it!

If you like oils that you can use with a perk, then I highly recommend the Crystal Sage oils. You can of course use them for general aromatherapy, but I love the scents that you can wear. It’s a great way to take your aromatherapy everywhere you go. They use sweet almond oil due to its mineral, protein and vitamin rich properties, but on the upside, it works well with all skin types. For each one-ounce bottle, you have ½ ounce of pure essential oils and ½ ounce of sweet almond oil, which means no other chemicals. This is as natural as you can get, with hints of spicy earth tones to the soft floral notes of spring. The perk? You can recycle the bottles and use the stones that remain in the bottle for beading when you’re done.

While you are there, check out their To-Go Ware 3-Tier Tiffin Set, Glass Straws, Snack Tins, and make sure to grab an organic cotton carrier before they’re gone. For kids, check out the Gobble n Go Eco Vessel, these are amazing and very handy. I love the fact that the sustainability products are hard to break. This is a win-win situation for everybody. I love the fact that they are bringing in these types of products. Not only are we the people reducing our carbon footprint, but also we are cutting down on waste of hundreds if not thousands of plastic bags and Tupperware every year. Now that I’m aware of the fact that just one plastic bottle could take on average 450 years to decompose, I do believe that these products are the way for a brighter and more sustainable living without ruining our environment.
