What are Your Favorite Christmas Songs?

Here are 10 favorite songs I never tire of (in no particular order), what are your favorites?

Before the Thanksgiving turkey carcass was on the curb for trash pick up stores started piping in the Christmas music, usually makihng me long for the Muzak days when it was easier to tune the music out.

Despite being bombarded at all places retail with Christmas music, I still love holiday tunes (with the posible exception of Jungle Bell Rock, I seriously never need to hear that one again). Here are 10 favorite songs I never tire of (in no particular order), what are your favorites?

1. Baby it’s Cold Outside--Margaret Whiting and Johnny Mercer version

2. Must be Santa--Brave Combo version

3. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas--Judy Garland, accept no substitutes

4. Christmas Times A' Coming-- Bill Monroe

5. You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch--Thurl Ravenscroft version from the original Chuck Jones animation, don’t even mention Carey to me

6. Sleigh Ride--The Ventures version (What can I say? I’m from SoCal!)

7. Santa Claus is Coming to Town--Bruce Springsteen version

8. Santa Baby--Eartha Kitt version, there is no superior recording of this song

9. Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth--Bing & Bowie from 1977

10. Holly Jolly Christmas--Burl Ives from the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (Remember the Norelco commercials? There is nothing quite like an electric razor slicing through the snow!)

I love "We Three Kings" and I can't hear to the Alvin and the Chipmunk's "Christmas Song" without smiling.

Ah, I'd forgotten about the Chipmunks! I love when they sing "Hula Hoop." You're right Karin, a classic!

Pandora has a GREAT Christmas songlist. The perfect mixture of oldies (Bing, Garland, Como) plus the not annoying current stuff. There are commercials once in a while if you use the free application, but it's much better than the radio alternative!
