A couple in their 50’s was awoken in their bedroom by two armed men, according to Cindi West with the King County Sheriff's Office.

Armed robbers sprayed a man with pepper spray and stole items from a home near Redmond early Monday morning, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.

The residential robbery occurred at about 12:30 a.m. Monday on the 9000 block of 209 Ave NE in unincorporated Redmond, Cindi West with the King County Sheriff's Office said.

A couple in their 50’s was awoken by two men who were in their bedroom, West said.

Both men had their faces concealed. One was armed with a gun and the other with pepper spray. The robber with pepper spray sprayed the male victim and then rifled through drawers in the bedroom as the other suspect held the pair at gunpoint, West said. The suspects then took property belonging to the victims and fled out the back. The victims told officers they heard a vehicle with a loud muffler leave the area immediately after the robbery.

The suspects have been described as:

  1. A white male, approximately 6 feet tall and 220 lbs and,

No gun in the safe is going to help in that instance. Thank goodness they are ok.

Hope the police find the bad guys soon! There have been a ton of robberies and break-ins in Redmond lately.

Get a home alarm / security system. That would a) potentially scare off the robbers b) give the home owner notice of a break in situation, and c) alert the Police.
A neighbor had a breakin last month and the burglars ran away when the alarm went off. Also, make sure you have good lighting outside the house; motion detectors are great. If you leave the house on vacation, stop the newspaper, put lights that turn on inside on random timer settings. In other words, make your house look lived in even if nobody is in.
