'Bad Hair Bandit' Who Hit Redmond Bank Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

Federal authorities say Cynthia Lynn Van Holland is responsible for more than 20 bank robberies in four states.

The female bank robber federal authorities dubbed the "Bad Hair Bandit" was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison.

Cynthia Lynn Van Holland, 48, will also have to pay more than $33,000 in restitution, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Eastern California.

Van Holland was linked to one bank robbery in Redmond and 20 others across Washington, Oregon, California and Montana. Authorities say she hit the in Redmond on Jan. 27, 2011, and made off with $441.

Federal authorities in Seattle dubbed Van Holland the "Bad Hair Bandit" because she wore wigs and other unusual disguises during the crimes.
