Broken Snow Globe Leads to Hazmat Scare at Microsoft Campus

A building was evacuated Friday afternoon after a mail package was found to be leaking a clear liquid.

A building on the Microsoft campus was evacuated Friday afternoon after a mail package was found to be leaking a clear liquid.

Redmond Police spokesman Jim Bove said the source of the leak was subsequently determined to be coming from a broken snow globe, and that employees have been allowed to re-enter Building 123.

Officials had called in a hazardous materials team from Bellevue and shut down traffic on 150th Avenue Northeast as precautionary measures. Bove said all lanes are now re-opened to traffic.
