Holiday Weekend Police Blotter: Overlake Business Hit with Car Prowls

The following incidents were reported between 6 a.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Friday, Feb. 17

2:08 p.m., 17100 block of NE 84th St.: Redmond Police responded to an attempted car prowl.

2:08 p.m., 18600 block of NE 63rd Way: A stolen vehicle was recovered. It was towed to the station and placed in a secure vehicle storage pen.

3:24 p.m., 10900 block of 176th Circle NE: Redmond Police investigated the report of a fraud.

Saturday, Feb. 18

12:35 a.m., 18700 block of Redmond Way: Redmond Police conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle. A small amount of marijuana along with some alcohol were located inside the vehicle. No charges will be pursued.

12:50 a.m., 17800 block of Redmond Way: Officers contacted a man sitting in a vehicle and recovered a small amount of suspected marijuana.

2:41 a.m., 5000 block of W Lake Sammamish Parkway: A vehicle was located that looked abandoned with keys in the ignition.

8:13 a.m., 2600 block of 152nd Ave. NE: Redmond Police responded to a car prowl at a local business. The passenger side window was smashed. A GPS and flashlight were taken from the work vehicle.

8:29 a.m., 2500 block of 152nd Ave. NE: Police investigated an attempted auto theft.

8:31 a.m., 2600 block of 152nd Ave. NE: Suspects smashed the driver's side window and removed a GPS, digital camera and cell phone from the work vehicle.

8:32 a.m., 2600 block of 152nd Ave. NE: Suspect(s) smashed the passenger side window and removed a GPS and digital camera from the work vehicle.

12:04 p.m., 16000 block of NE 85th St.: Redmond Police responded to a burglary at an apartment complex. An unsecured storage area with multiple locked storage closets were compromised. There was nothing of significant value taken, but property not belonging to the victim was in their storage unit. The found property was returned to the rightful owner, who also reported a break in of their storage unit to the leasing office. There did not appear to be any forced entry.

1:40 p.m., 2200 block of 148th Ave. NE: Three teenage boys from Bellevue, Burien and Mukilteo between the ages of 14 and 16 were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and possession of marijuana.

1:58 p.m., 8600 block of 161st Ave. NE: Police responded to a report of theft.

2:17 p.m., 16600 block of NE 80th St.: Redmond Police took a harassment report at a local church. Suspect known.

3:21 p.m., 15700 block of Bear Creek Parkway: Redmond Police responded to a report of a theft in an apartment complex. Power tools were stolen.

4:06 p.m., 2200 block of 148th Ave. NE: Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at a local business. Suspect was arrested and subsequently released in the field.

Sunday, Feb. 19

7:11 a.m., 15800 block of Leary Way: A vehicle was reported stolen from an apartment complex.

7:29 a.m., 9400 block of 166th Ave. NE: Redmond Police responded to a car prowl at an apartment complex.

8:59 a.m., 15700 block of Bear Creek Parkway: Redmond Police responded to the report of a vehicle prowl at a local parking garage.

12:33 p.m., 15600 block of NE 113th Court: Suspect(s) smashed the rear passenger window of a vehicle. The only item taken was a black bag that contained a pair of dance shoes.

3:45 p.m., 8300 block of 167th Ave. NE: Redmond Police investigated a report of a burglary. Several electronics and other items were taken from the victim's residence.

6:18 p.m., 15700 block of Bear Creek Parkway: Redmond Police took a car prowl report.

7:21 p.m., 16800 block of NE 89th St.: Redmond Police conducted a death investigation.

7:33 p.m., 15300 block of NE 63rd Way: Redmond Police investigated a motor vehicle prowl at a local residence.

9:03 p.m., 17600 block of Union Hill Road: Redmond Police responded to a report of shoplifting in progress at a department store. Two female suspects were located nearby in a park-and-ride lot. The store was willing to prosecute one of the suspects, and she was arrested.

Monday, Feb. 20

9:35 a.m., 16900 block of NE 43rd Court: A couple found that their car had been entered and rummaged through. Nothing was taken.

10:50 a.m., 8000 block of 145th Court NE: A stolen vehicle was recovered in an apartment complex parking lot.

10:51 a.m., 8000 block of 145th Court NE: A Redmond woman's vehicle was stolen from her apartment complex sometime overnight.

12:15 p.m., 16400 block of NE 97th Place: Police investigated a theft in the Education Hill area.

12:40 p.m., 8300 block of 167th Ave. NE: Redmond Police responded to a disturbance in a laundry room.

2:41 p.m., 16900 block of Redmond Way: Redmond Police responded to a report of theft from a payphone.

4:41 p.m., 2200 block of 148th Ave. NE: Redmond Police responded to a report of shoplifting at a local department store.

5:52 p.m., 7400 block of 159th Place NE: Redmond Police responded to a vehicle prowl report at a local residence.

Tuesday, Feb. 21

12:51 a.m., 7300 block of W Lake Sammamish Parkway: Police arrested a 32-year-old Redmond man on suspicion of DUI.

3:56 a.m., 18000 block of Union Hill Road: Redmond Police contacted UPS security about a package containing marijuana. The package was later entered into evidence for destruction.
