Kent Man Pleads Guilty to KeyBank Robberies

The Seattle Times reports a former busboy has admitted to robbing a string of banks in Bellevue and Redmond last fall.

A 23-year-old Kent man pleaded guilty Wednesday to four KeyBank robberies in Bellevue and Redmond, The Seattle Times reports.

Prosecutors are recommending that Jason Achurra, who worked as a busboy in Seattle, be sentenced to nearly 16 years in prison for the crimes, according to the newspaper. He will be sentenced March 9.

The one robbery to occur in Redmond happened on Nov. 23 at the KeyBank branch in the 15100 block of NE 24th St. In that robbery, Achurra carried a semi-automatic weapon and jumped over the front counter, stealing an undisclosed amount of money.

According to the Times, Achurra escaped with large sums in the four robberies and used some of the money to purchase a car, 1,200 rounds of ammunition and a Tiffany engagement ring.
