Firefighters Extinguish Condo Fire in Redmond

Firefighters from Kirkland, Redmond and Bellevue extinguished a fire in Redmond's Sixty-01 condo apartment building early Saturday morning.

Firefighters from Redmond, Kirkland and Bellevue responded to a Redmond condo fire at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Saturday morning, Kirkland Firefighters on Facebook reported.

The fire occurred in a unit at the Sixty-01 condo building, located on 140th Ave. NE. Arriving crews reported smoke showing outside.

Investigators believe the fire started inside the wall of a second-story unit, said Ken Henderson, acting Battalion Chief of the Kirkland Fire Department. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze by tearing into the wall to extinguish it.

The other five condo units were unaffected, Henderson said. Beside the hole in the wall, damage to the unit was minimal and no injuries were reported.
