The studio faced criticism for the trailer immediately following today's theater shooting in Colorado. One scene depicts a quartet of gunmen opening fire on a crowded theater from behind the movie screen.

Warner Brothers has decided to pull the trailer for its upcoming film, "Gangster Squad," in the wake of today's .

One scene from the trailer - which aired immediately before "The Dark Knight Rises" - is particularly chilling given the shooting in which suspect James Holmes threw tear gas and randomly opened fire on the crowd.

Here's what The Huffington Post reports:

One scene from the trailer ... features four men standing behind a movie screen in trenchcoats, walking towards the audience shooting at them with automatic weapons as mayhem erupts in the theater.

According to The Huffington Post, the studio had asked theaters to play the trailer loose, which means it wasn't specificially paired with "The Dark Knight," but it did run with the movie in about 30 percent of domestic theaters.

RASP is a wonderful group of writers from all walks of Redmond life. They hold an open mic on theRead More last Friday of every month at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center. Not only do they have featured readers like Kathleen, but the open mic portion encourages anyone from the community to read their work. It's regularly quite good. All those with a hunger to get their work out in the world should attend.
