Update: Firefighters Extinguish Two-Alarm Blaze at Apartment Complex

No one was in the building at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

Redmond firefighters responded just before noon today to a two-alarm blaze at the at 4850 156th Ave. NE. Fire crews from Bellevue, Kirkland, and Woodinville also helped extinguish the blaze.

When firefighters arrived, they found flames rising 15 feet out of the window of one of the apartment units.

“Flames were visible (and) shooting out of the second floor when they got there,” spokesman Jim Bove said.

No one was in the apartment complex at the time of the fire, Bove said, and no injuries were reported. Fire officials said nearby neighbors who quickly called 911 helped ensure the flames did not spread to three other apartment buildings.

The cause of the blaze is unknown at this point. We'll post more information as soon as it becomes available.
