Redmond Man Charged With Sex Crime After Alleged Incident at Marymoor Park

Harlan George Nelson, 65, is accused of asking a 4-year-old girl if she would like to see him naked, seattlepi.com reports.

A Redmond man who was charged with immoral communication in 2009 is facing new charges for allegedly approaching a 4-year-old girl at Marymoor Park on March 30 and asking if she would like to see him naked, seattlepi.com reported Monday.

According to the PI, Harlan George Nelson, 65, has again been charged with communication with a minor for immoral purposes, a sex crime, for a conversation he allegedly had with the girl in a parking lot while she was watching a bird with her father.

“Harlan asked (the girl’s father) if his daughter would like to see a ‘naked man,’” Detective Belinda Ferguson said in court documents. “He was caught by surprise and was not sure what Harlan meant. …

“Harlan kept looking at his daughter and then started a conversation with her and asked her if she wanted to see a naked man and his daughter said ‘no.’”

This is not the first time Nelson has been accused of inappropriate conduct with children. In 2009, he was charged with immoral communication for allegedly approaching a 7-year-old girl near his home with a similar question, the PI reports.

Those charges were deferred later that year under an agreement that would drop the case if Nelson did not re-offend in five years.

Attorney information for Nelson is not listed in online court records, and a phone number that was listed under his name has been disconnected.
