Bove said the fires were ruled suspicious because of their proximity to one another and because they took place in the mornings of two consecutive days. Avon Villa is typically a quiet area, he said, although police do occasionally respond to the surrounding apartment complexes and other residences for minor calls.

“It’s just a lot of people that live in a small area,” he said.
