Remains of Missing Redmond Teen ID’d: Report

The King County Sheriff's Office says a partial skull found 12 years ago was that of Erin MacGregor, who disappeared in 1990, Q13 Fox reported Monday night.

Authorities have identified the remains of a Redmond teen missing since 1990, Q13Fox reported Monday night.

The King County Sheriff’s Office said DNA taken from a partial skull found in 2001 along Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass identified the remains as those of Erin MacGregor, the station reported.

“Now, it’s not a missing person’s case anymore, this is a case where it’s most likely a homicide,” King County Sheriff’s detective Jason Stanley told the station.

MacGregor was 18 when she disappeared after leaving her Redmond home Sept. 19, 1990.

MacGregor’s case is detailed on the National Missing and Unidentified Persons website. She was last seen by her mother when her mother left for work in the morning. MacGregor had two job interviews scheduled, but failed to keep either appointment. Her 1985 Honda Civic del Sol was found Oct. 3, 1990, in Seattle's Rainier Valley area, according to the website.

And according to The Charley Project, MacGregor’s boyfriend was mysteriously assaulted before she disappeared by a man who told him, “Your girlfriend’s dead.” The boyfriend found notes in his car saying the same thing, according to the website. The assailant was never identified.
