Two Arrested in Road Rage Incident on Cleveland Street

Police say the passenger in one of the vehicles threw a canned beverage at the other vehicle, shattering its windshield.

Two men were arrested Monday in downtown Redmond after they allegedly engaged in road rage with a driver who had "almost cut them off."

Jim Bove, a spokesman for the Redmond Police Department, said the two vehicles had been honking at each other while driving eastbound on Cleveland Street when one vehicle drove in front of the other and abruptly stopped at a green light at 161st Avenue Northeast.

The passenger in the stopped car proceeded to get out and throw a canned drink at the other vehicle and shatter its windshield, Bove said.

Unbeknownst to the alleged perpetrators, an officer was nearby and witnessed the incident. The driver of the stopped vehicle, a 20-year-old SeaTac man, was arrested on disorderly conduct, and the passenger, a 20-year-old Des Moines man, was arrested on disorderly conduct and vandalism.

When police asked the two men why they were angry at the other driver, they reported that he had "almost cut them off."
