Weekend Police Blotter: Driver Flees Scene After Hitting Pedestrian

The following incidents were reported between 6 a.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Monday.

A 50-year-old Redmond man is facing hit-and-run charges after police say he struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk near Northeast 85th and 166th Avenue Northeast at about 8 p.m. Friday and fled the scene.

spokesman Jim Bove said a person who witnessed the incident followed the driver, who traveled less than 1/2 mile before officers caught up to him.

“He didn’t go very far,” Bove said.

The victim was not seriously hurt and declined medical attention, Bove said. Charges are pending against the driver.

11:43 a.m., 18600 block of NE 62nd Court: The victim reported losing a check book and subsequently several checks were cashed without her permission. Investigation ongoing.

3:23 p.m., 15800 block of NE 40th St.: A bicycle theft was reported in the Overlake area.

4:47 p.m., 14900 block of NE 24th St.: A Redmond-area man was arrested for trespassing after he refused to leave a business.

4:50 p.m., 4000 block of W Lake Sammamish Parkway: Police investigated a report of a theft from a vehicle.

5:49 p.m., 14800 block of NE 24th St.: Police investigated a report of ATM/credit card fraud.

8:03 p.m., NE 85th Street & 166th Avenue NE: A Redmond resident was struck by a vehicle while walking across a street in the Education Hill district. The suspect driver left the scene and was arrested a short time later.

Saturday, Oct. 29

1:24 a.m., 14400 block of Redmond Way: A 46-year-old Bellevue man was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

1:48 a.m., Leary Way & Cleveland Street: Redmond Police responded to an assault near a local bar. No suspect was identified.

2:04 a.m., 2800 block of 152nd Ave. NE: Redmond Police responded to a report of domestic violence and arrested a 23-year-old Redmond man.

2:34 a.m., 12800 block of Avondale: Redmond Police arrested a 21-year-old Seattle woman on suspicion of DUI.

8:54 a.m., 15200 block of NE 90th St.: Redmond Police took a car prowl report.

9:15 a.m., 15400 block of NE 106th Way: Complainant reported unknown suspect(s) entered his locked garage and took several items.

2:05 p.m., 16500 block of NE 37th St.: Unknown suspects took a tool box and several tools from a truck bed that was unlocked.

4:25 p.m., 17600 block of NE 76th St.: Redmond Police responded to a shoplifting incident at a local department store. The suspect fled the scene and was identified by security.

11:30 p.m., 17800 block of Union Hill Road: Police responded to a report of fourth-degree assault.

Sunday, Oct. 30

1:55 a.m., 10900 block of 159th Ave. NE: Police investigated a theft from a vehicle.

8:23 a.m., 10900 block of 159th Ave. NE: Redmond resident found his car door ajar. Upon investigating, he found an electronic device missing.

9:00 a.m., 11100 block of 159th Ave. NE: While canvassing an area where a car prowl report was taken, police located another car prowl victim vehicle.

10:34 a.m., 16200 block of NE 107th Court: Complainant reported unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle and took his garage door remote.

3:22 p.m., 18600 block of NE 63rd Way: Redmond Police investigated an identity theft that occurred about two years ago. There is no suspect information at this time.
