Weekend Police Blotter: Redmond Hit With 14 Car Prowls

The following incidents were reported between 6 a.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Monday.

Redmond was hit by a string of car prowls over the weekend, with at least 14 incidents reported on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Most of the car prowls occurred overnight Saturday in Education Hill and were apparently committed by the same person or group of people, said spokesman Jim Bove.

“All of the ones on Education Hill are connected,” he said.

At about 2 a.m. Monday morning police spotted a possible suspect in some of the car prowls. He fled on foot, Bove said, and responding officers used a K-9 police dog to try to track the suspect's scent but eventually lost his trail.

Bove said several of the victims had left their vehicles unlocked. Many of the stolen items, he said, had little monetary value, such as bags of clothing and one gym bag full of softballs.
