520 Bridge Closure to Begin Saturday, Oct. 15 Due to Husky Home Game

The bridge will be completely closed from Saturday night to Monday morning this weekend, WSDOT says.

Because of the University of Washington Huskies football game, the next full weekend closure of the State Route 520 bridge will start Saturday evening, instead of the usual Friday night, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Both directions of the State Route 520 bridge between Montlake Boulevard in Seattle and I-405 in Bellevue will be closed this weekend, the transportation agency said.

This closure is related to the . The closure is due to the removal of the west half of the Bellevue Way bridge, according to WSDOT, which will require the bridge to be completely closed.

It will be the fifth full weekend closure of the bridge this year, with one more planned but not yet scheduled.

This weekend, crews will work on installing girders for a new highway lid in Medina. More information on the Eastside Transit and HOV Project can be found on the WSDOT website.

The closure is set to take place beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, and end by 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17. WSDOT says it delayed the start of the closure to accommodate a football game at Husky Stadium earlier on Saturday.

WSDOT says the next full closure of the 520 bridge will take place Nov. 5-7.
