Bothell Mayor Sued by Woman Who Claims She Was Fired After Affair

Bothell Mayor Mark Lamb, 39, is being sued by a woman who claims Lamb fired her from her paralegal job at his law firm after their two-year affair ended earlier this year, The Seattle Times is reporting.

Bothell Mayor Mark Lamb, 39, is being sued by a woman who claims Lamb fired her from her paralegal job at his law firm after their two-year affair ended earlier this year, The Seattle Times is reporting.

Micaela Mae, 23, filed the suit in Snohomish County Superior Court on Monday, seeking damages for wrongful termination and invasion of privacy, the Times story said.

Lamb, who is married and has been mayor for six years, wrote in an email to The Times Friday: "My lawyers will be vigorously defending me in this matter. We dispute the claims, and believe the suit to be frivolous. Unfortunately, public figures are often the target of frivolous lawsuits."

While Lamb has been mayor Bothell officials have claimed to be leading the largest municipal downtown project in the state. Over the past two years, the City has broken ground on $89 million in fully-funded projects as part of the total $150 million in planned infrastructure improvements for downtown.

Christine Slattery, one of the attorneys representing Lamb, said a response to Mae's suit will be filed next week.

This has everything to do with morality. I agree that some innocent people are getting hurt...like the mayor's wife and kids. There you have it, a sexual affair that began before her employment at the law firm, accepting thousands of dollars for schooling from a man she knew was married, (Which allowed her to get the job in the first place) and now she claims wrongful termination and invasion of privacy? My jokes are in line with the stupidity of the affair and the lawsuit. They both deserve what they get. You should read the comments made by people in the Seattle Times...like one person suggesting that Miss Mae knows about some illegal activities the mayor was involved in. Sex, money, politics, mystery, blackmail, this story has it all.

This IS NOT a story.. It's real life. This isn't a public interest story and doesn't effect you or your neighbour. Your neighbour could be having an affair... You or your partner might be swingers... Would you like your laundry aired in trash press for others to feed off? For your kids to hear trash talk? It's time to stop giving so called press reasons to print a story the people outside of involvement have no need to know. sensationalism sells... Ever thought it's small minded people slinging mud in the hope it sticks? There is wrong on both sides but it's down to the legal system to judge the right and not for the community to persecute. We all make mistakes and if you haven't... You must be lying!!!

Are the small minded people that are slinging mud the same two that went public with their story of lust, politics, and money? I think calling them small minded is a personal attack. Having their dirty laundry placed on public display might be the best way to for them to realize that they are accountable for their behavior. Not exactly a scarlet letter, but pretty darn close.

PS you might want to re read the story too. She never went to school via Lambs money. He offerred it to her...among other things. She turned down WAY more then she ever accepted from him. Oh and theres another mistress coming forward now. Buckle up.
