City Hosts Brainstorming Session for 2012 Citizen Academy Series

Next year's series of workshops will enable residents to develop civic knowledge in advance of Redmond's 2013-2014 budget setting process.

The City of Redmond's Citizen Academy will return in early 2012, and organizers are hosting a brainstorming session on Dec. 14 to gather input and ideas for the new series.

The Citizen Academy is a series of free informational sessions that cover the inner workings of Redmond's municipal government. Topics that were covered in this year's series included public safety, transportation, housing and utilities.

This year's Citizen Academy will take place before the city's budgeting-by-priorities process, enabling participants to enhance their civic knowledge before providing input on the city's 2013-2014 budget.
