City of Redmond to Commemorate 9/11 With Moment of Remembrance

All residents are asked to remember the tragedy's 10th anniversary this Sunday.

The Redmond City Council approved a resolution Tuesday requesting that all residents commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks by observing a moment of remembrance at 10 a.m. this Sunday.

In reading the resolution into the record, Mayor John Marchione said all residents should cease all work or other activity for at least one minute. Ringing bells, blowing whistles or sounding sirens for one minute would also be appropriate, he said.

Marchione also said all flags at city facilities will be flown at half-staff in mourning of the nearly 3,000 lives that were lost in the attacks.
