City Plans Work Party at Farrel-McWhirter Park

The event is part of Green Redmond's Last Saturday of the Month program.

The City of Redmond and the Cascade Land Conservancy are inviting everyone to come out to for a work party on Saturday, Sept. 24.

From 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will remove invasive species and plant native trees to help maintain a healthy forest and mitigate carbon pollution. Participants are asked to dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. All tools and materials will be provided.

All ages are welcome to participate, but those under 18 must bring a parent or a signed waiver.

Farrel-McWhirter Park is located at 19545 NE Redmond Road. for Patch coverage of a previous work party at the park.

The upcoming event is part of Green Redmond's Last Saturday of the Month program, which will wrap up the season with a clean-up at Hartman Park on Oct. 29.
